Global Markets Group is the offshoring arm of Morgan Stanley’s Sales & Trading businesses in India. It covers functions across IED ranging from those associated with sales, trading, analytics, strats to risk management.
Primary Responsibilities
Delta one trading is one of the biggest risk-taking desks in equities trading. Traders on this desk act as market-makers (non HFT) and offer various liquidity offerings to clients on a discretionary and systematic basis.
The role is within systematic trading arm of delta one where key aspects of the role combines broad market understanding, knowledge of market impact models, risk models and portfolio construction. We are looking for proactive, self-starting individual to be part of our India team working with EMEA Cash Trading Strats team. This is a challenging role and offering exposure to an interesting, dynamic product group and work environment to build your career in.
Responsibilities for this role would involve:
- Managing and maintaining a large and complicated technical environment.
- Creating and maintaining trading algorithms
- Updating exchange connectivity libraries
- Building Tools/Apps to analyze and spot anomalies in a complex & multidimensional marketplace.
- Solid experience with Linux, Git, build and CI/CD pipelines.
- Regular communication with team members in EMEA.
Skills required (essential)
We are looking to hire both first-class technicians/technologists and those with a good knowledge of financial markets. You will have either or preferably both skillsets:
- Degree with a technical discipline (BE, BTech,MTech in Computer Science)
- 1-4 years of data engineering experience.
- Strong experience in Core Java (2-4years)
- Build and maintain real-time market data pipelines and trading infrastructure
- Optimize systems for latency, scalability, and reliability
- Solid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and memory management
- Data Structures & Algorithms experience
- Familiarity with cloud‑native data warehouse platforms (Snowflake, Synapse) or equivalent.
- Must be able to flexibly respond to changes in priorities, be able to communicate results to a less-technical audience, work well in a team and be comfortable in a front office environment.
- Drive and desire to work in an intense team-oriented environment.
In addition, below knowledge is not critical but useful for the role.
- Experience with real-time risk and PnL systems
