Your key responsibilities

• You will define and drive the strategic data architecture roadmap, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable, and sustainable data solutions that align with our long-term vision, particularly for regulatory and compliance objectives.
• Your designs will be the vital glue between business and technology, earning the trust of internal teams, clients, and partners.
• You possess a deep passion for elegant and effective solutions, proactively going the extra mile to ensure your designs are not only fit for purpose but also perform flawlessly in production for critical regulatory reporting and analytics. You will lead by example, openly addressing and resolving architectural challenges as they arise.
• Your designs will form the bedrock of our data services, built upon a profound understanding of both the specific regulatory problem domain and the latest advancements in data technologies.
• You have the rare gift of dissecting intricate challenges and translating them into sustainable solution designs that are not just functional, but also intelligent, efficient, and aesthetically sound, especially when dealing with high-volume, sensitive regulatory data.
• You excel at collaborating with diverse stakeholders across business and technology, including compliance officers, business analysts, tech engineers, project management, and senior leadership. Your ability to build consensus and drive architectural alignment is a key strength.
• Your primary focus is on empowering users and solving their most critical data challenges, particularly those related to regulatory adherence and financial crime prevention. Your exceptional technology acumen will be leveraged to deliver intuitive and powerful data solutions.
• You appreciate and actively manage the entire system lifecycle, from ideation and creation through production, including the strategic refactoring of technical debt to ensure architectural longevity and compliance readiness.

• You are a respected authority within the data architecture domain, especially concerning regulatory data. • You are the go-to expert for any data problem, regardless of its underlying technology – be it relational, NoSQL, or big data – and can articulate its applicability to regulatory requirements.

Your skills and experience

• Advanced Data Platform Expertise:
  • Comprehensive Relational Database proficiency: Deep hands-on experience and architectural leadership with Oracle and PostgreSQL.
  • NoSQL & Caching Solutions: Proven expertise with MongoDB and Redis.
  • Big Data Ecosystem Mastery: Experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing solutions leveraging the Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, Spark, Hive, and Kafka.
  • Cloud-Native Data Architect (GCP Focus): Extensive experience architecting and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This includes BigQuery for analytical workloads, Cloud SQL for relational databases, Dataflow for batch and stream processing, Pub/Sub for real-time messaging, and Cloud Storage for data lake design. Understanding of Data Catalog and Data Fusion for metadata management and ETL/ELT orchestration on GCP is also important.
  • Real-time Streaming: Proficient in designing and implementing real-time data pipelines and event streaming architectures using technologies like Kafka and Pub/Sub.
  • Data Warehousing/Lakehouse: Experience with modern data warehousing and data lakehouse architectures, including platforms like Snowflake (a significant plus).
• Exceptional SQL Fluency: You are a master of SQL, including local dialects (T-SQL, PL/SQL, pgSQL) and all variants (DQL, DML, DDL, DCL). You can optimize complex queries and design efficient data schemas.
• Data Governance & Management Tools: Expertise in various data and structure management tools such as ER/Studio, Power Designer, Collibra for data governance and metadata management, and Liquibase for database schema versioning.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to lead architectural initiatives, mentor junior team members, and drive consensus among technical and business stakeholders.
• Regulatory Domain Knowledge: Specific experience or strong understanding of data requirements and challenges within regulatory adherence in financial services.
