Job Description:
Datavail is seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Analyst to aid in working with our clients to define and develop Data Governance solutions that meet defined business objectives. The individual should have experience in defining and developing solutions around Governance and Data Governance to help define and identify solutions for our client's business problems. The Data Governance Analyst will be responsible for conceptualizing and defining end to end solutions in areas around the use and implementation of Data Governance frameworks and concepts including areas such as Metadata Management, Data Access and Security Governance, Data Stewardship and Operating models, Data Quality Idenification, Root Cause Analysis and Solutioning, and other related areas.
Key skills include:
Data Governance Frameworks:
Deep understanding of DAMA_DMBoK, DCAM, and ISO/IEC 38505.
Have experience in creating and implementing policies, standards, and controls for enterprise data.
· Metadata Management
Proficient in Business, technical, and operational metadata.
Experience with glossaries, catalogs, lineage, and stewardship models including Sensitive data classification and handling.
Data Access & Security Governance:
Understands and can define Role_based access control (RBAC) and attribute-based access control (ABAC).
Regulatory Compliance & Risk:
Knows regulatory compliance such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, SOX, PCI, and emerging AI/data regulations and is able to apply to policies, monitoring, risk assessment and scoring.
Has experience in conducting data risk assessments and remediation planning.
Data Stewardship & Operating Models
Designing centralized, federated, or hybrid governance models.
Enabling stewardship roles and workflows, being able to align data governance practices to business value and developing use cases for deployment of governance processes including defining data ownership and identifying data owners as well as data stewardship and data stewards.
Has experience in establishing steering committees, RACI matrix for governance and cadence for on-going governance program.
AI Governance Literacy & Competency
AI Risk & Compliance
Understanding of emerging regulatory frameworks (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF).
Ability to assess AI/ML models for fairness, bias, transparency, and safety.
Responsible AI Principles
Knowledge of ethical AI frameworks, transparency requirements, and accountability structures.
Creating policy guardrails for model development and deployment.
Reporting to the Practice Lead, Data Governance, you will partner with our sales, marketing, solution development, Data Management Practice Teams and service delivery management teams to ensure successful pursuit of managed and professional services deals. You will proactively engage with all internal teams to ensure timely delivery of appropriate solutions to customers and drive deal closure. You will be able to collaborate with your peers to continually improve our standards, processes, and pricing for solution development.
The skills you should bring to the table include over 5 to 10 years of experience in building, managing, and architecting Data Governance solutions in the areas of business intelligence, data management and Data Warehouse solutions. The individual should have a background in multiple areas of Governance solutions and have familiarity with Data Governance tools such as Purview, Collibra, Alation and others (not necessary to have all but some familiarity with a number of these tools), experience with data management disciplines such as Master Data Management, Data Governance, Meta-data management, etc. (not necessary to have all but exposure to multiple is a big plus). Candidates should have played a lead role in the solutioning, design, and implementation of these solutions and acted in a project leadership role in these engagements. Good Communication skills are required as well as experience leading engagements. Experience in performing assessments and defining Analytics solutions is also required.

Advise, own, define, and articulate a strategic technical vision to drive solutions in the Analytics space for our prospect and customers
Be the Go-To "trusted advisor" for our customers
Work with our prospects and customers to define and architect joint initiatives and co-create their transformation journeys and roadmaps to meet their business and IT needs.
Be a leader and give delivery teams context and confidence to make correct technical decisions, while establishing culture of excellence
Provide strategic leadership on cross-practice customer engagements for Datavail's key customers
Advise customers on overall technology standards and practices and governance strategies
Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in the technology landscape
Provide market insights to ensure our customer's IT strategy stays current and contributes to their competitive advantage
Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation, and creativity
Implement and lead the implementation of Data Governance solutions for both on-prem and in the cloud data management solutions.
Collaborate with Cloud Solution Architects within Datavail in developing complex end-to-end solutions.
Maintain technical skills and knowledge, collaborate and share with the technical community while educate customers on Data Governance.
Present and lead ideation and solution alignment workshops with our customers to establish the art of the possible and help them to realize it
Provide thought leadership by speaking in technical conferences, webinars, marketing events and heavily involved in publishing case studies, white papers and blogs.

You are an experienced technology architect with strong business acumen. You are as comfortable working with a technical team as you are with client business leaders (C-Suite and down) and you know how to build bridges between the two. With your excellent communications skills, you are adept at mapping business needs to technology solutions and helping non-technical audiences understand the benefits of these solutions.

5 to 10 or more years of hands on experience delivering projects
5+ years of overall consulting experience
Demonstrated ability to lead and architect complex engagements
Excellent understanding and hands-on experience in architecting and delivering Data Governance in Analytical solutions with focus with both on-prem and cloud technologies (both support and new application development)
Hands-on capability to work with the development team
Experience with various Data Governance toolsets
Strong collaborator with successful track record of working in a heavily matrix organizational structure
Ability to apply critical thinking to develop and solve business challenges.
Exceptional consulting skills in communicating, establishing of strategic direction, influencing others, negotiating skills, operational decision making, problem solving, facilitating and managing meetings, and questioning and probing.
