About the Role 

Against an increasingly complex regulatory landscape, FTI Consulting’s Financial Services (FS) Team focuses on advising clients to mitigate risk across all stages of business cycles, as well as within an evolving operational, competitive, and regulatory landscape. FTI experts’ partner with clients to manage risk, improve financial and operational performance, ensure compliance, respond to regulatory inquiries, address enforcement actions and litigation risks, and optimize the use of assets to protect and enhance enterprise value. We help clients navigate a regulatory investigation or inquiry and achieve the overall risk profile they need to power their organization forward. 

We are involved in complex, global, and high-profile litigation, arbitration, investigations, and compliance program remediations combining end-to-end consultative advisory, remediation efforts, and disputes expertise to deliver holistic solutions for our clients.

The Team is hiring experienced Associates and Consultants to join the India team. At the Associate and Consultant-level, professionals in the India Practice will be supporting the U.S. team to provide support in at least one core pillar within the Financial Services practice, while maintaining a strong working knowledge across adjacent service offerings, providing analysis and supporting the broader practice on engagements as needed.  

What You’ll Do 

In this role, you will work on a variety of global engagements and will be involved in:  

• Support day-to-day execution of financial consulting engagements, working closely with client personnel, internal team members, and professionals from other firms where applicable.

• Conduct technical, industry, and company research using online tools and publicly available information; assist in developing work plans and executing analyses to address complex factual and business questions. Prepare supporting documentation, schedules, and summaries of findings for client delivery.

• Apply banking, compliance, financial, and analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines, including development and review of client policies and procedures, processes and controls, risk assessments, corporate governance structure, compliance with bank regulations, operation efficiency, and management of risk.

• Maintain accurate and well-organized working papers, clearly documenting assumptions, methodologies, and data sources used throughout analytical and review activities.

• Produce high-quality work outputs within set timelines and budget parameters, with guidance from senior team members. This includes assisting in drafting written analyses, supporting the preparation of reports, and contributing to client presentations and basic quantitative exhibits that summarize the project scope, approach, and key findings.

How You’ll Grow 

• Build a foundational understanding of FTI Consulting’s service offerings and begin to identify how the firm supports current and prospective clients, with guidance from senior team members. 

• Start developing professional relationships with financial services professionals, attorneys, and client personnel, supporting broader business development efforts, and learning how new engagement opportunities are generated. 

• Organize and structure information to support basic analysis and decision-making, developing core analytical skills under close supervision.

• Gain early exposure to client engagement work, receiving feedback and guidance from senior team members to support your professional development.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s Degree in either Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Statistics, Business Administrations or in a related field.

• 1 to 3 years of relevant post-graduate professional experience in private or public sector in financial services. Candidates with more extensive relevant experience may be considered for a Consultant-level position.

• Basic awareness of financial services rules and regulations, or an interest in compliance within financial products or the financial services industry, with a willingness to learn and develop in these areas.

• Experience with regulatory compliance related to regulations including but not limited to:

• Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/ Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
• Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
• Fair Lending
• Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP)

• Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed.

• Ability to work onsite at Mumbai office (Mahakali Caves Road).

• Strong experience with Microsoft Office Tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications

• Consulting experience working with financial services regulations and financial institutions.

• Professional experience working with consumer financial regulations within a financial institution or regulatory agency.

• Desire to work towards CFE, CAMS, CRCM, CPA, CFA, FRM or other relevant professional designations.

• Applicants should be comfortable managing fast-moving deadlines and change/ambiguity in projects.
