Title: Consultant – Bengali Translation & Contextualization
Experience: 2-3 years
Location: Remote (with occasional meetings, if required)
Mandatory Requirements:

Fluency in Bengali- written, spoken, reading, talking

Prior teaching experience / Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) experience/education is mandatory

Experience of working in low-resource communities/with frontline workers/AWWs etc in space of advocacy/education/health will be considered an advantage
Overview: The consultant will be responsible for translating and contextualizing the curriculum from English into high-quality Bengali while ensuring that the content is linguistically accurate, culturally relevant, and aligned with ECCE principles.
Key Results:

Translate curriculum into Bengali.

Contextualize curriculum to reflect the linguistic, cultural, and classroom context of West Bengal while preserving the original learning objectives.

Ensure translations are simple, natural, and appropriate for Anganwadi-based implementation.

Review translated content for accuracy, consistency, terminology, grammar, and readability.

Develop and maintain a consistent glossary of ECCE and programme-specific terminology.
Deliverables :

High-quality Bengali translations of Aadharshila & Navchetna curriculum.

Review and revise curriculum w.r.t. stakeholder feedback.

Standardized glossary for consistent terminology across all materials.

Translation, review, and finalization of a 350-page book
