Principal Activities
Configurator Specialist
The Configurator Specialist executes standard work to maintain the existing configurator. Updating existing products and implementing new features and products as required is also one of his/her responsibility. The Configurator Specialist support the development of a future strategy for the variant configurator, taking into account the development in digitization and supports the definition and integration of forward-looking technologies and processes for this area.
Variant Configuration work assignments
- Expansion and maintenance of the configuration profiles for products (ALLWEILER Radolfzell; ALLWEILER Bottrop) in various sales organizations
- Incorporation of new products into existing configuration profiles or creation of new profiles, taking design and sales-oriented requirements into account in close coordination with the Manager Configurator Team
- Integration of pricing into variant configuration
- Definition and initial structure of class items in super parts lists; Support and partial maintenance of variant classes from the maximum BOM; Structure, maintenance, and support of maximum work plans of the respective configuration profiles
- Creation and maintenance of maximum part lists and calculation rules for external processing operations Expansion and maintenance of configuration profiles for configurable purchased components
- Implementation of optimization measures, process improvements and reduction of possible errors according to the requirements
- Support and trouble shooting in the event of configuration errors during the offer or order processing
- Documentation of variant configuration and process descriptions of variant configuration
Master Data SAP
- Support for various specialist departments in the context of projects and project-related evaluations of master data
- Support for various departments in maintaining material master records (usually through mass changes)
- Maintenance when changing stat. Commodity codes due to annual changes in the Harmonized System (external). These are bulk changes; Change requests are related to key dates and are carried out at the turn of the year
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Experience in a technical/industrial environment, ideally with pumps or similar products
- Experience in creating and programming configurators or similar applications, ideally knowledge of the SAP LO-VC Variant Configurator
- Team player working well with different departments such as Engineering, Finance and Operations
- Good skills in abstracting information and processes and translating them into the configurator
Education & Experience
- Completed studies in IT and/or mechanical engineering
- 5 years of professional experience in one of the two areas and relevant experience in the other area
- Good German and English language skills
- Willingness to work in an international team
