Abbott Ireland Financial Services Cherrywood Dublin

Abbott’s EMEA Finance Shared Services centre commenced operations in Cherrywood, Dublin in October 2015. From this location the Finance Shared Services provides processing and expertise, in local languages, to Abbott divisions and affiliate companies across EMEA. The core services are in Record to Report, Order to Cash, Source to Pay and Master data management. The Financial Shared Services hub is part of Corporate Finance and has regional counterparts in the US and in Singapore.

EPD has established an Analytics Center of Excellence which will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of an Enterprise Analytics solution servicing over 40 countries across EPD functional areas.

Primary Job Function:

  • Support the Enterprise Analytics solution by creating and maintaining optimal data pipeline, ensuring data is clean, correctly mapped and processed according to business expectations and enterprise data model.

  • Translate EPD business needs to technical specification to enable business strategies by working directly with business stakeholders (across functional areas) and Architects

  • Develop data pipelines to deliver analytics’ expected benefits and capabilities from data perspective.

  • Ensure integrity, scalability, robustness, flexibility and transportability of implemented solutions

  • Define and implement development standard and patterns

  • Ensure solutions align with corporate IT services and policies (Security Standard, Data standards, ETL standards, Architecture Standard)

  • Be part of Master Data Governance, including Master Data Management activities through data flows and data build.

  • Proactively communicate data methodology, architecture, and results to a diverse set of partners

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand EPD information needs in the context of business strategies and priorities

  • Participate in business workshops, lead data stream to define, develop, and document data needs

  • Closely cooperate with business users and architect to understand business needs and translate to technical specification that include data definitions, data model, data flows and transformations/logic required

  • Identify and obtain data from various data sources, ingest and transform into expected format

  • Implement enterprise-level data pipeline and best practices such CICD and unit testing, continues analysis, examination and evaluate existing systems and data

  • Continues improve user experience and suggest adjustments in integration processes

  • Ensure improvement of data management activities to release business teams from repetitive non-value-added activities

  • Actively manage data lifecycle

  • Release management: deployment between environments, handover to support

  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date project and solution documentation

  • Proficient in using technology components to realize master data activities

  • Implement business and technology initiatives to fulfil data needs

  • Define a robust and scalable architecture to manage Enterprise Analytics tools according to formal concepts, principles, best practices and up to date techniques

  • Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position

  • Implement enterprise-level ETL best practices such as version control and unit testing

  • Able to self-manage and work independently in a fast-paced environment with dynamic requirements and priorities

  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or similar

Minimum Experience/Training Required:

  • Minimum of three to four years of hands-on experience in developing cloud data pipeline

  • Minimum of five to seven years of experience in Data Warehouse and Data Lake environments

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in IT jobs

  • Minimum of three full cycles of global analytics initiatives

  • Extensive Experience in working in AWS environment (S3, Athena, Glue, Step Functions, Redshift, Lambda, Lake Formation, Api)

  • Extensive Experience in developing data pipeline in DWH/ BI projects

  • Extensive Experience in scripting languages (Spark, Python, Java)

  • Extensive experience in SQL and one of the following databases: Redshift, Oracle, MSSQL, Mysql, PostgreSQL

  • Experience in implementing CICD Pipeline – DevOps

  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Experience in Data Governance projects, at least one year of experience managing large global program / project teams

  • Knowledge and experience integrating SalesForce.com data

  • Knowledge and experience with BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik etc.)

  • Knowledge and experience of AI / Machine Learning solutions

  • Fluent in English written and verbal

  • Well organized way of working, efficiency in solving complex issues

  • Strong communication and facilitations skills with the ability to communicate at all business levels and lead requirement definition workshops

  • Knowledge and experience with Informatica technology (Informatica IDQ, MDM, PowerCenter, IICS) would be an asset

  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry would be an asset
