Job Title: Chapter Lead (Engineering Manager)

Business & Team:
Retail Technology is responsible for the world leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank, from innovative product platforms for our customers to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential component of great customer service.
You will be working as a part of Retail Technology to achieve their strategic objectives through planning, prioritising, delivering and supporting projects and initiatives. Your team’s success will be realised through partnering with business and IT teams across both business domain and Technology to deliver beautiful experiences and exceptional capabilities to our branch applications

- You will contribute to the financial well-being of our customers by ensuring that our team builds the best solutions possible using modern development practices that ensure both functional and non-functional needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct incident analysis and triage to minimize downtime effectively.
- Design, implement, and support scalable, cloud-native systems and APIs.
- Serve as a Full Stack Developer with strong coding capabilities in .NET and related technologies, and lead or participate in the definition, execution, and communication of ETL strategy and technical solutions.
- Work extensively with Oracle Database, focusing on architecture, performance tuning, and the development of data staging and architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance workflows, reliability, and ensure adherence to client and company guidelines.
- Monitor and resolve issues using tools like Splunk, Grafana, and AppDynamics.
- Participate in the full lifecycle of agile projects, ensuring solutions are robust, secure, and highly available.
- Be fully engaged during major incidents to restore service promptly and uplift the quality of technical solutions by applying industry best practices.
- Influence and guide stakeholders, and contribute to delivery planning to ensure technical deliveries are aligned with engineering direction and strategy.
Essential Skills:
- 15+ years of industry experience as a .Net Backend Engineer with people management skills and 14+ years in design, architecture, or development in Analytics and Data Warehousing.
- Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Core, REST APIs, Microservices, and experience with ETL pipeline building using Spark or Scala.
- Extensive experience with Teradata data warehouses and Cloudera Hadoop. Proficient across Enterprise Analytics/BI/DW/ETL technologies such as Teradata Control Framework, Tableau, OBIEE, SAS, Apache Spark, Hive
- Experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and proficiency in Python-based framework development.
- Familiarity with relational databases like MSSQL/Oracle and No-SQL databases like MongoDB, and extensive experience with Teradata data warehouses and Cloudera Hadoop.
- Excellent communication skills and experience with Agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a self-starter attitude and the ability to work autonomously.
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
