Centralized Research Group - Security & Resiliency Initiative - Vice President
Join the team supporting J.P. Morgan's Security & Resiliency Initiative globally. As a Vice President in the Centralized Research Group (CRG), the role combines strategic research, developing pitchbooks and marketing materials, conducting financial analysis, executing on transactions, and creating thought leadership content to help bankers, clients, investors, and policymakers address critical economic security challenges.
The Security & Resiliency Initiative (SRI) is J.P. Morgan’s 10-year strategic plan to facilitate, finance, invest in, and advise companies, projects, and ecosystems critical to economic security and resilience. SRI combines the firm’s banking, markets, advisory, and public-sector capabilities to address structural constraints across strategic supply chains and accelerate growth in sectors critical to economic security, including Supply Chain and Advanced Manufacturing, Defense and Aerospace, Energy Independence and Resilience, Frontier and Strategic Technologies, and Pharma and HealthTech, through innovative financing and advisory solutions that align clients, J.P. Morgan capabilities, ecosystem partners, and government stakeholders.
As SRI Vice President within CRG, you will deliver differentiated insights and strategic recommendations across sectors critical to economic security and resilience. Combining deep research, financial modeling and analysis, industrial policy perspectives, and advanced analytical tools, you will assess companies, opportunities, and supply chain vulnerabilities to develop investment theses that support client engagement and capital deployment.
You will help shape thought leadership, support strategic transactions, and evaluate innovative financing solutions in partnership with bankers, clients, and ecosystem stakeholders. The role combines strategic research, transaction experience, and executive-level communication to advance economic resilience and strengthen critical supply chains.
Job Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the SRI teams across the globe and support in preparing pitch books & marketing materials that the senior client bankers take to their clients during meetings
• Drive day-to-day project management and delivery of entire engagement and impactful recommendations
• Lead one or more client projects, including managing multiple associates / analysts across several workstreams
• Analyze markets, policies, and supply chains to identify structural risks and resilience opportunities across priority sectors
• Evaluate strategic supply chains, identify critical bottlenecks and dependencies, and develop actionable frameworks to improve resilience, capacity expansion, and industrial production capabilities
• Develop and refine investment theses, business cases, and impact assessments to inform strategic decision-making and capital allocation
• Conduct valuation and transaction analyses including DCF, trading comps, transaction comps, and LBOs. Develop proprietary research, thematic perspectives, and strategic assessments for clients, policymakers, investors, and senior leadership
• Monitor policy, regulatory, industrial strategy, and government funding developments relevant to SRI focus areas and assess implications for clients and capital deployment opportunities
• Prepare and deliver high-quality materials, internal memos, and committee presentations with executive-ready narratives. Assess innovative financing frameworks, including public-private partnerships, blended finance solutions, risk-sharing frameworks, government-supported financing programs, and other catalytic capital solutions
• Leverage AI/LLMs to accelerate knowledge generation, identify trends, synthesize complex information, and enhance the quality of analytical outputs. Drive continuous improvement of playbooks, templates, and research method
• Coordinate diligence and risk assessments for complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
• Excellent academic record
• CA or MBA qualification with Min 8 years of experience in investment banking, research, strategic consulting, investing, or other fields relevant to SRI sectors
• Strong client management and executive-level communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to operate effectively in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities and with cross-functional, cross-level stakeholders
• Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, executive-ready presentations, research reports, and strategic recommendations. Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex industry, policy, technical, and geopolitical developments into actionable insights
• Ability to structure and scope complex problems and apply a range of analytical tools to develop innovative solutions
• Advanced user of MS Office suite, including Word and PowerPoint
• Close attention to detail and ability to work at very high standards of precision under tight deadlines
• Excellent organizational, time management and planning skills. Execution-oriented self-starter who likes to take initiative and is able to deliver in efficient and effective ways. Ensure the highest ethical standards and regulatory compliance within the firm
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
Experience in one or more SRI sectors, including supply chain and advanced manufacturing, defense, energy, semiconductors, critical minerals, strategic technologies, pharmaceuticals, healthtech, or industrial supply chains
Understanding of industrial policy, economic security, strategic supply chains, government and policy tools, export controls, or related policy frameworks
- Exposure to blended finance, risk-sharing structures, and public-private partnerships
- Demonstrated ability to build proprietary research frameworks and generate differentiated market insights.
- Experience coordinating complex diligence processes across multiple stakeholders
- Track record of excellence within investment banking and strong academic foundation. Pursuing / completed additional financial certifications such as CFA, FRM
Proficiency with AI/LLM tools and workflows to enhance research, drafting, and analytical tasks is preferred
