Role Title - Business Solutions Group (BSG) – Senior Associate / Manager / Senior Manager, Capital Markets Transformation and Consulting (Post-Trade & Market Infrastructure)

We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Sr. Associate/Manager/Senior Manager to provide business analysis and program management support across strategic capital markets transformation initiatives. The initial assignment will focus on T+1 settlement migration, post-trade transformation, clearing & settlement modernization, and market infrastructure initiatives across Global Markets

The Business Solutions Group (BSG) team sits within Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Securities Group (ISG) and functions as an in-house management consulting team supporting the firm with strategic program management and delivery, large-scale transformation, operational improvement, and regulatory change or remediation. The team partners with individual business lines, Legal/Risk/Compliance, and senior firm leadership to drive initiatives to completion.

This individual will play a foundational role in shaping the team’s capabilities, delivering high-impact engagements.

What you'll do in the role:

Key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Lead business analysis and program delivery activities supporting T+1 settlement and post-trade transformation initiatives across APAC markets.

  • Partner with Business, Operations, Technology, Risk, Finance, Legal and external market infrastructure participants to deliver regulatory and market-driven change.

  • Gather business requirements, perform impact assessments, document current and target state processes, and define business solutions.

  • Drive cross-functional program governance including planning, RAID management, dependency tracking, executive reporting and implementation readiness.

  • Coordinate SIT/UAT planning, business readiness, operational readiness and production implementation activities.

  • Analyse trade lifecycle impacts across execution, confirmation, clearing, settlement, custody, collateral and reconciliation processes.

  • Support operating model redesign, process optimization and automation initiatives to improve settlement efficiency and reduce operational risk.

Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, particularly post-trade operations, clearing and settlement.

  • Experience supporting regulatory change, market infrastructure or settlement transformation programs.

  •  Strong Business Analysis experience including:

    • Requirements gathering

    • Process mapping

    • Current vs Target State

    • Gap analysis

    • Business process redesign

  • Experience managing cross-functional delivery across Business, Operations and Technology.

  • Experience preparing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications (FRDs), user stories and business process documentation.

  • Strong program governance including RAID management, dependency tracking and executive reporting.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies.

  • Strong presentation skills, including ability to create polished PowerPoint presentations for various levels of management.

  • Strong data analysis and technology acumen, with experience leveraging data, analytics, AI/ML, Generative AI, and automation tools to improve decision-making, streamline processes, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

  • Independent self-starter who can manage multiple activities to aggressive deadlines.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-10+ years of professional experience in management consulting/strategy, transformation.

  • Experience leading business process transformation, target operating model design, operating model optimization, and cross-functional change initiatives across Business, Operations, Technology, Risk, and Finance.

  • Strong knowledge of capital markets products, trade lifecycle, clearing & settlement, and market infrastructure, with the ability to drive cross-functional delivery across Business, Operations, Technology, Risk, and Finance stakeholders.

  • Proven experience in business analysis, including requirements gathering, process mapping, target operating model design, impact assessment, and stakeholder management across Business, Operations, Technology, Risk, and Finance.

  • Experience delivering complex, cross-functional transformation programs with strong program governance, executive reporting, and change management capabilities.

  • Preferred experience from a global investment bank, asset manager, exchange/market infrastructure provider (e.g., HKEX, DTCC, Euroclear, Clearstream), or leading consulting firm supporting capital markets transformation.

  • BS/BA degree required. Advanced degrees in business, finance, economics, engineering or related fields preferred.
