Job Description

The Segment Manager for Pharma is a very pivotal role in the LPM business and will have full accountability for the incremental growth of the Pharma segment in AD South Asia. You will be entrusted to retain and grow the business and help gain share in the marketplace. 

The role involves working with brands in the pharma industry and having C-suite as well as Packaging and procurement connects in these brands to drive AD business. In this role, you will manage and elevate the end-to-end engagement with brand owners and ecosystem partners in the Pharma space. You will be responsible to lead Avery Dennison’s market leadership in self-adhesive labels across all pharma sub- segments.

As a Thought Leader and Pharma Segment - Subject matter Expert, you will further the penetration of existing pharma label solutions with Brands as well as converter and printer OEM community and help develop new age solutions, while driving top line growth and margin enhancement. You will lead the mandate to identify unmet needs of the brands, gauge evolving customer expectations and liaise with external and internal ecosystems to convert it into viable techno- commercial offerings. Partnering with the Sales, Product Line Management, Sustainability and R&D, you will be responsible for linking the long term business strategy to a robust go-to market plan. 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Accountable for market mapping and actively monitoring competitor strategies, Identify unmet need in the pharma end user ecosystem and commercialize initiatives catering to the needs
  • Be the catalyst of growth by leading development of strategic outlook, strategic & operating plans along with key initiatives to enhance market share & profitability
  • Responsible for pipeline execution - Annual target achievements
  • Collaborate actively with Pharma Sales Manager & Product Manager to deliberate on new product development and devise appropriate strategies for share gain from competition - Application identification, Converter tie ups , scale up plans etc
  • Active collaboration with fellow segment colleagues to develop and realise Decoration transfer pipeline 
  • Actively collaborate with Product Management team for monitoring progress on BFI’s and exploring ideas for making compelling value propositions
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (R&D, Sales, PD etc.) for development of products, demand forecasting , pricing & maximization of profitability & market share
  • Active Collaborate with Marketing Communications team to ensure that we are actively participating in industry events, deploying tools to run campaigns, deploy sales tools to enable better penetration for our Pharma portfolio

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of B2B commercial experience with strong understanding of value selling
  • Knowledge and Network in Pharma sector a strong requirement
  • Strong understanding of the Packaging Label Ecosystem will be preferred
  • Concept selling ability and technical bent of mind 
  • A leader with strong people and team management capabilities - Managing directly and managing through influence
  • Ability to strongly influence cross functional teams
  • Understanding of Market Research methodologies to help deliver structured market understanding
