Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on technical ownership of a set of BI and Reporting solutions, including reports, data marts and dashboards, for a part of Apex’s global business.  This includes responsibility for the build, run and maintain of these solutions.
  • Design, develop, and deploy interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI and Tableau.
  • Utilise Snowflake as the data source to ensure accurate, up-to-date, and well-structured data for reporting.
  • Ensure that BI and Reporting solutions meet performance and security requirements and that outputs are delivered within the defined SLA’s.
  • Ensure that you follow best practices for software development, including version control, coding standards, and testing methodologies.
  • Communicate status, risks, and issues promptly.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, data engineers, and IT teams, to identify requirements and their potential solutions.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure seamless data integration from various sources into Snowflake and the coordination of data models.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and translate them into actionable BI solutions.
  • Provide insights on best practices for data visualisation and reporting based on industry standards.
  • Optimise query performance and report loading times to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Identify and resolve data quality and performance issues in collaboration with data engineering teams.
  • Implement data governance practices to maintain data accuracy, security, and compliance within BI solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations and policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest features and capabilities of Power BI, Tableau, and Snowflake.
  • Document BI solutions, data models, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.
  • Conduct training sessions to educate end-users on how to use and interpret BI reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 4+ Years Proven experience as a BI Developer using Power BI and Tableau.
  • Proficiency with Snowflake data warehousing and integration.
  • Greater understanding of Data Governance & practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Ability to create compelling visualisations that communicate complex data effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with cloud security and data protection best practices.
  • Proficiency with cloud-based data processing, data lakes, and serverless architectures.
  • Proficient understanding of financial services industry regulations and compliance.
  • Proficient understanding of cloud-based BI solutions and services.
  • Understanding of scripting languages, such as Python, R, or PowerShell, for both data manipulation and orchestration.
  • Understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data integration.
