Tasks and Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end execution of automation systems for a Greenfield project, encompassing design, engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning, and validation in alignment with project timelines and business objectives.
Manage the complete project lifecycle for automation systems, including planning, budgeting, forecasting (invoicing/cash flow), risk management, and reporting to senior stakeholders.
Own vendor management — from scoping and technical evaluation to onboarding, contracting, execution, and performance monitoring — for both automation system vendors and process equipment suppliers.
Drive technical design decisions in collaboration with Engineering Consultants, User Teams, and Global Automation SMEs, ensuring robust, scalable, and standardized automation solutions across all process units.
Oversee installation and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory validation protocols (DQ, IQ, OQ, HQ).
Ensure integration of automation systems with plant equipment and enterprise systems (e.g., MES, ERP, SCM), focusing on interoperability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
Coordinate plant-wide harmonization of automation platforms, hardware, and control strategies (e.g., ABB 800xA, Siemens, Rockwell), optimizing lifecycle cost and vendor diversity.
Provide layout and schematic inputs to the Engineering Consultant for automation-related infrastructure (e.g., control rooms, cabling pathways, operator stations, and electrical rooms).
Champion Industry 4.0 and digital transformation initiatives, including robotics, remote diagnostics, and smart data integration, wherever applicable within the project scope.
Conduct regular project reviews and status meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor progress, manage change controls, and ensure alignment with critical path milestones.
Monitor and enforce safety and quality protocols during installation and commissioning phases, in coordination with HSE and QA/QC teams.
Support validation and documentation processes including FAT, SAT, and GMP-compliant testing, ensuring a smooth transition to operational readiness and regulatory compliance.
Mentor and guide cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration between engineering, procurement, quality, automation, and operations teams throughout the project.
