The Automation Engineer will design and implement test automation frameworks, perform API and UI testing, integrate CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with teams to ensure quality software releases.
We're seeking a highly skilled SQA Automation Engineer with expertise in Playwright and TypeScript to join our growing team. You'll design, implement, and maintain robust test automation frameworks for enterprise-level applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software quality, and drive automation best practices across the organization.
What You'll Do
Test Automation & Framework Development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright (preferred), CodeceptJS, Cypress, Appium, Selenium, or Mabl
- Continuously enhance existing automation frameworks to ensure scalability, efficiency, and alignment with industry standards
- Implement Page Object Models (POM) and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles for reusable, maintainable test scripts
- Develop and execute end-to-end automated tests across multiple platforms
API & UI Testing
- Design and implement API testing strategies for RESTful and SOAP APIs
- Perform UI automation testing to ensure seamless user experiences across web applications
CI/CD & Integration
- Set up and integrate CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution and smooth deployments
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and QA teams to integrate automated testing into the SDLC
Defect Management & Reporting
- Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA; analyze root causes and assist in debugging
- Provide detailed, actionable reports on test results, coverage, and automation effectiveness
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with developers, QA engineers, product managers, and UX/UI designers
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, scripts, results, and best practices
What We're Looking For
Must Have:
- Currently based in Hyderabad, India (local candidates preferred), elsewhere in India (remote), or Bangladesh (remote)
- 2+ years of experience designing and implementing automation frameworks using Playwright (preferred), CodeceptJS, Cypress, Appium, Selenium, or Mabl
- Proven experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks from scratch
- Strong hands-on experience in API automation testing (RESTful and SOAP APIs)
- Expertise in Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles applied to test automation
- Proficiency in implementing and maintaining Page Object Model (POM) architectures
- Experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket, GitHub, AWS EC2, Azure, etc.)
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript for test automation with ability to write high-quality, reusable code
- Demonstrated experience developing automation frameworks for enterprise-level applications (Salesforce experience preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in test automation
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Experience with performance testing tools
- Python experience
Working Hours: Aligned to ET time-zone (9 AM - 5 PM ET / 8 PM - 4 AM Bangladesh / 6:30 PM - 2:30 AM India)
