Brunswick set up its India practice in 2013, based in Mumbai but with a capability to service clients throughout the country. We advise international clients new to India, as well as those already in the subcontinent. And we support Indian companies expanding globally - either through acquisitions or capital markets – and on business-critical issues they face within and outside of India. We do this with the support of sector specialists spread across the 18 countries that host a Brunswick practice.

Our India team comprises experts in domestic public affairs, corporate communications and research, underpinning our ability to provide informed corporate relations counsel on a complex range of issues and events such as crisis and litigation, as well as market entry, expansion and engagement.

Associates advise clients and drive execution on accounts, focusing on delivery of workstreams and proactive development of ideas. An Associate nurture a wide internal network across offices and specialisms to share, develop and deliver the best examples of work for internal and external use; as well as broadening their external network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive execution on client accounts, managing workflow and delivery against a clear plan and milestones, with supporting elements (e.g. client calls, activity reports, etc.)
  • Build strong relationships with client counterparts, forming a strong cohesive team at both the client and at Brunswick
  • Advise clients with support of Directors/Partners, drawing on independent experience and insights
  • Manage complex external interactions, using advanced knowledge of media, analysts, third party commentators and stakeholder landscapes
  • Play an active role in drafting new business proposals and LOEs, including participating in pitch meetings.

Candidate specification

  • An understanding of the interplay between corporates, the financial community, the political and regulatory arena and social stakeholders.
  • A strong sense of corporate positioning, and how to develop strategies that can translate into programs with real sustained impact.
  • The ability to operate effectively in a commercial, self-starting, and fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience in stakeholder analysis, ideally through a reputational lens
  • The ability to connect with and leverage the skills and expertise of colleagues, to deliver the best possible advice, campaigns and programmes to clients
  • A strong verbal and written communicator with high EQ levels
  • Energetic team player, demonstrating a commitment to helping colleagues at all levels of the firm accomplish their individual and client objectives
  • An understanding of the intersection of business, politics and society and the critical issues faced by organisations in these contexts, both in India and on the global stage
  • A strong understanding of the traditional and digital media landscape in India
  • Knowledge of ESG and Climate-related issues would be beneficial
  • A sense of fun.
