Associate Vice President, Restructuring 

Our Restructuring practices’ aim is to provide effective solutions to its clients.  Our clients include major high street banks, asset-based lenders, private equity houses, accountants, solicitors, financial sponsors, lenders, creditors, corporates and individuals.  We are tasked with offering transaction and advisory services along with expert guidance to both domestic and foreign organizations in distressed situations across virtually every industry and every situation.

We are seeking an Associate Vice President to work with clients to advise them on how they can simplify their group structures. This role will be based in India and will collaborate closely with global teams in UK and Europe region.

 

You will be involved throughout all stages of the simplification lifecycle, working as part of a team to advise clients on how to dispose of and reorganise corporate entities, realise assets, resolve outstanding issues such as the settlement of creditor claims and assist in the distribution of the surplus assets to shareholders.

 

You will broaden your knowledge as part of a fast-growing global team that has strong relationships and networks across different industry groups and jurisdictions.

 

You will develop an impressive range of advisory and technical implementation skills, gaining exposure to company legislation and accounting principles. This will foster a solid legal and financial understanding of different clients and businesses that will offer you both growth and career progression opportunities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pre-elimination diligence to identify risk areas (both on and off balance sheet) requiring resolution ahead of liquidation. For example, preparation of balance sheet rationalisation steps, underpinned by a solid understanding of accounting principles and an awareness of corporate law and tax implications.

  • Administer a portfolio of MVLs and CVLs from cradle-to-grave, ensuring statutory compliance and case progression in line with agreed timetables and budgets.

  • Oversee and review work prepared by junior colleagues including: KYC, fee quotes, engagement letters, liquidation appointment documentation, case reviews, annual progress reports, distribution documentation and final reports. 

  • Assume responsibility for client relations and liaise with clients, clients’ employees, agents and solicitors as necessary

  • Provide ad hoc support including input into proposals, statutory compliance, tracking pipeline opportunities and billing management etc.

  • Provide guidance, motivation, mentoring and assistance to the team, assisting them with their training and progression in Kroll and undertake appraisals and other actions as required

  • Adhere to Kroll systems, policy requirements and relevant Health & Safety policy

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong academic qualifications and accounting experience. An ideal candidate will possess finance relation educational qualifications such as Chartered Accountant, Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Finance MBA

  • At least five years’ experience preparing entities for closure and managing a portfolio of MVLs and CVLs. 

  • A sound understanding of relevant insolvency legislation and of statutory and regulatory requirements in respect of the liquidation processes across Scotland, England and Wales, with proven experience.
  • Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and experience collaborating with key stakeholders (i.e. clients, professional advisors, tax authorities).

  • A self-starting team player with a can-do attitude and a problem-solving mind.

  • Good attention to detail, organisational and administrative capabilities with the ability to prioritise effectively.

  • Ability to work well under pressure, deal with ambiguity and meet deadlines.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Experience in using IPS.
