The Associate Lead - SDET role involves developing and maintaining automation frameworks, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and mentoring junior staff. Strong experience in testing within the gaming industry, particularly with Unreal and Unity engines, is essential.
Your Role
- Framework Development & Maintenance: Designing, implementing, and enhance scalable, robust automation frameworks for high coverage and reliability.
- Advanced Test Implementation: Write, execute, and debug complex functional, performance, and integration tests within the Unreal Engine.
- CI/CD Integration: Seamlessly integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for immediate "shift-left" feedback on code changes.
- Quality Standards & Audits: Drive high-quality code and testing standards, performing technical reviews and audits of automation code and test plans.
- Source Control: Apply advanced skills in Perforce/Git/GitHub/GitLab for branching, merging, and managing test code repositories.
- Technical Mentorship: Act as an SME to guide and mentor junior staff on automation best practices, framework usage, and complex debugging.
Must Have
- Minimum of 5+ years as an SDET or in a comparable automation-focused QA role.
- Strong, demonstrable background in the Gaming Industry, with specific experience testing complex mechanics, ideally in Sports or simulation games.
- Expert-level proficiency in designing, coding, and debugging scalable automation frameworks for complex software applications.
- Direct experience writing and maintaining automated tests for features built on or interacting with the Unreal/Unity Engine.
- Proven ability to define and execute specialized testing strategies for features leveraging AI/ML technologies.
Good to Have
- Practical experience using performance profiling and load testing tools to identify and report bottlenecks in game performance.
- Experience testing backend services and APIs (e.g., REST, GraphQL) that support the core game functionality.
- Advanced skills using Git/GitHub/GitLab for branching, merging, and managing test code repositories.
