JOB DESCRIPTION
The Client Engineer works on the frontlines of a defect fixes team to maintain good quality game experiences for our games. You will debug, modify and generally support in-game features, development, and operational tools in a timely manner and actively participate in the design of the games.
You will need to have technical skills to operate independently, and the communication and collaboration skills to be an integral and valued team player. At the Associate Software Engineer level, you will need to have the solid skills and work ethic to succeed as a software engineer, and the desire to learn from your teammates.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Implement and maintain client-side code for desktop and mobile games in a thorough and timely manner.
• Work on client/server-based applications using a variety of technologies including JavaScript, HTML, CSS etc.
• Contribute to the development of new/innovative games and different features in a game.
Required Experience:
• 1-2 years of software development experience
• Strong understanding of JavaScript, its quirks, and workarounds
• Experience in Data structures (JavaScript or any programming language)
• Basic understanding of web mark-up, including HTML5 and CSS3
• Experience with development tools including IDEs, debuggers, bug tracking required
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, CVS, SVN.
• Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming techniques and languages.
Preferred Experience:
• Knowledge of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as React, AngularJS, jQuery, NodeJS etc.
• Hands on experience in other programming languages such as Java, C++, Python etc
• Familiarity with front-end build tools, such as Grunt
• Distributed application (client/server) development experience
• Game Development experience.
• Experience in UI development and animations.
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
