The Motion Graphics Artist job is responsible for the creation of motion graphics and editing video content for both the TIAA and Nuveen businesses. As a hands-on animator/designer, this job partners with the U.S. based Multimedia team to create content that engages the respective audiences and supports business goals. This job provides input into projects that need support and oversight, and interfaces with client marketing business partners as well as senior leaders. The role may also oversee other motion graphics artists and guide execution.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- To ideate, conceptualize and implement bespoke design and motion graphics that align with brand identity.
- To lead project workflow and work in a high-volume environment.
- Have a positive and collaborative attitude. Be open to ideas from business partners and team members.
- Create high quality videos to support business partners, marketing initiatives, executive team, and corporate communications.
- Collaborate with business partners to ensure consistency of message and brand.
- Complete projects within scope, on schedule, and within budget.
- Oversee the communication from pre-production, production and post-production.
- Be an ambassador for the company's brand with a complete understanding of the brand identity and positioning; be able to clearly articulate to internal and external partners.
- Ability to work overtime, when necessary.
- Manages media across physical and cloud-based storage and content delivery options
- Dynamically manages workload and priorities on a day-to-day, hour-to-hour basis to ensure all project requests are met and effectively prioritized, despite a heavy workload
- Works with high degree of urgency on tasks and is highly responsive to partner requests at all levels
- Prioritizes success metrics/KPIs and ensures all relevant data is captured and shared with measurement team

- High degree of proficiency with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere
- Ability to implement essential motion design principles such as easing, timing, spacing, rhythm, and appeal into work.
- Understanding of design fundamentals including but not limited to composition, layout, typography, hierarchy, and color theory.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
- Working knowledge in basic sound design
- Digital native
- Experience creating engaging multimedia content
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to dynamically manage multiple projects at once, including frequent unexpected requests, with efficiency, urgency, and patience
- Ability to collaborate with partners to foster a positive and supportive environment
- Expectation of occasional travel and extended hours
