As a Data Product Governance Associate within the CAO Chief Data Office, you will play a pivotal role in building and shaping our data product governance program from the ground up. You will develop governance frameworks, define roles and responsibilities for data product development, and ensure alignment with firmwide and industry standards. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across teams, drive consensus, and embed governance requirements into the data product lifecycle, helping to establish a new practice area within the organization.
Job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive governance frameworks, standards, and operating models for data products.
- Define and document key roles and responsibilities throughout the data product development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Data Lake, Data Product Management, Data Management, Data Governance, and other teams to gain consensus and ensure alignment.
- Build and maintain governance documentation and supporting materials.
- Interweave data governance requirements into data product frameworks and processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to data product managers and other stakeholders on governance requirements as the program matures.
- Navigate ambiguity and changing priorities, adapting frameworks and processes as needed.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 3+ years of experience in Data Governance or Data Management.
- Prior experience with data products or data product development processes/frameworks.
- Proven ability to collaborate and build consensus across cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Experience in defining and implementing multi-faceted projects or programs.
- Self-starter with adaptability and comfort working in ambiguous, evolving environments.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft desktop productivity tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, SharePoint, Teams).
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience with industry standard data management or governance tools (e.g., Atlan, Collibra).
