ISS STOXX (part of the Deutsche Börse Group) is actively hiring for Data Quality Engineer to join our QBIT Team (Quality Assurance Benchmarking and Independent Testing) in Mumbai (Goregaon East), India.

Overview:
 

This is a techno-functional, data-oriented testing role. You will act as the ultimate gatekeeper for data quality by independently verifying the accuracy and integrity of complex ESG, Corporate Governance & Solutions, and Market Intelligence data solutions. If you enjoy "breaking things to make them better" and building robust test frameworks using Python and SQL, this role is for you.  You will blend financial domain knowledge with advanced data testing techniques, taking ownership of automated verification, deployment support, and the continuous modernization of our QA infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Test Framework Engineering: Design and build robust data-testing frameworks using Python and SQL. 

  • Data Quality & API Validation: Perform deep-dive backend data profiling and automated API validation (XML, JSON, GraphQL) to ensure integrity across complex ESG and market data solutions. 

  • Infrastructure & Automation: Build and manage scalable testing environments using Docker and Kubernetes (as required by project needs). Develop internal tool UIs (e.g., Streamlit) to enhance framework usability and streamline testing pipelines. 

  • Analytics & Reporting: Translate quality findings into actionable insights using visualization tools like Power BI to drive defect resolution. 

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner closely with Development and Business teams to define testing roadmaps, assess risk, and ensure seamless product releases. 
     

Qualification:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field. 

  • Experience: 4 to 6 years of proven experience in a data-driven QA, Data Quality, or Data Analyst role. 

  • Technical Core: Strong, hands-on expertise in Python (specifically data wrangling and analytical programming) and SQL. 

  • Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with Finance, Corporate Governance, or ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) data is a significant advantage. 

  • Analytical Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail. You must possess the acumen to transform raw datasets into actionable QA insights by identifying patterns, trends, and clusters. 

  • Communication & Autonomy: Strong communication abilities to collaborate with global stakeholders, coupled with a proactive, self-starter attitude to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving technical landscape.

  • Innovation & Applied AI (The "Good to Have" Edge) We encourage our engineers to leverage modern technology to work smarter and enhance our testing capabilities. 

  • Applied AI for QA: Leverage internally hosted LLMs and approved open-source AI tools to proactively solve data quality and validation challenges, automate code reviews, and enhance test coverage - all while maintaining strict data security. 

  • Agentic Workflows: Utilize tools like GitHub Copilot/Copilot CLI, n8n, LangChain to accelerate code generation, framework migration, and intelligent QA automation. 

  • Low-Code/No-Code Analytics: Explore advanced libraries (e.g., Great Expectations, Sweetviz, Pandera) for automated data profiling, and leverage platforms like KNIME for efficient analytics. 

  • Cloud & MLOps Readiness: On need basis, engage with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) as project allocations dictate, contributing to the team's broader technical upskilling and continuous integration goals.
