Job Description

Purpose of the role

To facilitate high quality and consistent production of Barclays Research products, as well as the delivery of those products to Barclays Clients via the firms Research platforms and channels. 

Accountabilities

  • Management and execution of the processes to facilitate the production and delivery of Research products to Clients .
  • Identification of changes to systems and processes to continually improve the delivery to our internal stakeholders and Clients .
  • To collaborate with Research Analysts, Management and other relevant stakeholders to help deliver seamless execution of processes, the resolution of issues, and to drive improvements to our processes and technology.
  • Adherence to the highest standards of risk management and controls; identify potential risks and help to develop strategies to mitigate those risks.

Assistant Vice President Expectations

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as experience with Data Science and Machine learning, as well as job-specific skillsets.

To be successful as a “Data Science Specialist", you should have experience with:

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Academically strong candidates preferred
  • Education: Should be minimum B.tech,Masters in Engineering, MS in Computer Science or PHD in Computer Science, PHD in Physics, PHD in hard mathematics.
  • If it is a PHD we can look for lesser years of experience range & if it is master’s, we can look for five to six years of work experience.
  • Working knowledge on statistics, data science, machine learning preferred.
  • Should be from top-tier institutes even the ones with PHD.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • Python knowledge is a must.
  • Any experience in AI first, NLP is preferable.
  • Should be great in developing presentations, storytelling with data insights to CXO level audience.
  • Must be from a techno-functional background.
  • Good knowledge in Python.
  • Experience in Python, BI tools, Pyspark min 2 yrs to 6yrs, Target Banking and Products like Mastercard, visa, Google, Amazon.
  • AI, Big data sources, Machine Learning, Data Science, AWS Platform, Tableau/Business Intelligence, JIRA/Sprint Planning, Problem Solving, guestimates, Gate Depository, SQL as technology.

This role will be based out of Nirlon Knowledge Park, Mumbai.
