Job Description for Assistant Planning Manager
Key Responsibilities
1. Create and monitor comprehensive project or operational plans, establishing timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
2. Liaise with internal teams, external consultants, clients, and vendors to align various planning activities.
3. Track project progress against baselines, identify deviations, and implement solutions for cost, resource, and time overruns.
4. Analyse operational data, market trends, and financial information to support informed decision-making and planning.
5. Prepare and present regular project updates, status reports, and documentation to senior management and stakeholders.
6. Assist with procurement processes, including managing purchase requisitions, tracking orders, and coordinating site delivery of materials.
7. Proactively identify and resolve project issues and roadblocks to ensure timely completion and project success.
8. Maintain effective communication with all relevant stakeholders to ensure project alignment and satisfaction.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
1. Experience in developing project schedules, managing project lifecycles, and utilizing project management tools (e.g., Primavera).
2. Strong ability to analyze data, interpret financial information, and provide insights for strategic planning.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse teams and senior management.
4. Exceptional organizational ability and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and complex documentation.
5. Proficiency in spreadsheet software (like Microsoft Excel) and document management systems.
6. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and lead planning efforts.
