About the role:
As an AI Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy AI solutions, with a focus on Generative AI. This role is a great opportunity to build a strong foundation in ML engineering and gain hands-on experience with foundation models (FMs) and related concepts such as RAG, fine-tuning, and agents.

The AI team at SailPoint applies AI and domain expertise to create solutions that solve real problems in identity governance. We believe the path to success is through meaningful customer outcomes, and we leverage traditional AI/ML as well as recent innovations in Generative AI and Graph ML to bring our solutions to SailPoint’s core product lines. You will be working with and learning from senior members of the team.
Roadmap to SuccessTimelineKey Objectives
90 Days• Gain a solid understanding of the SailPoint AI vision and Generative AI initiatives.• Onboard onto our AI Platform tech stack.• Assist in developing or evaluating a working prototype of an AI agent using existing models/tools.
6 Months• Contribute to a fully functional GenAI-powered feature under the guidance of senior engineers.• Help optimize existing AI pipelines to ensure robust training, evaluation, and deployment.• Collaborate with the AI and product teams to understand key use cases for GenAI.
1 Year• Become a key contributor to the development of a new FM-based capability.• Actively learn and apply advancements in FM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and agent-based systems.• Assist in establishing frameworks for evaluating GenAI features in production.
3-5 years of experience in building and deploying ML models.
Familiarity with or strong interest in Generative AI models and techniques, such as LLMs, fine-tuning, RAG, and prompt engineering.
A can-do attitude with a focus on delivering measurable business impact.
Good technical communicator who can convey complex topics to different audiences.
B.S. in Computer Science, or a related field.

Core Programming: Python, Go
Cloud Platform: Experience with a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure) is preferred.

Data: Snowflake, Kafka, Airflow
