As an Accounting Specialist you will be mainly responsible for day-to-day accounting (US GAAP/Indian GAAP), monthly/quarterly/annual closing, balance sheet reconciliation and period end GL balance comparison along with explanations for the material variances for the legal entities in scope. Ensure accounting activities, recorded in the company’s books of accounts are accurate and complete. Assist in preparation of financial statements (Indian GAAP), supporting various audits, supporting tax team and drive process improvements to achieve the productivity gains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the following accounting activities are conducted timely, accurately, & to Dow’s standard:
    • Day to day accounting (USGAAP/Ind AS)
    • Monthly/quarterly/annual closing activities
    • Monthly balance sheet reconciliation in Black Line application
    • Monthly flux analysis (comparing current period trial balance with prior period and provide explanation for significant fluctuations)
    • Quarterly/year end schedules
  • Preparation of financial statements as per Indian GAAP including statutory audit schedules.
  • Ensure all internal controls are effective and performed as per the process. Support external and internal audits.
  • Support tax team on preparation of various tax reports including tax audits.
  • Participate in the development, testing, and implementation of process automation including macros and Robotics Process Automation (RPA).
  • Drive process improvements to achieve productivity gains.

Education:

  • B.Com.
  • Chartered Accountant/US CPA (preferred)

Experience:

  • Financial Accounting with USGAAP/Ind AS (6-7 years)
  • Corporate / public accounting (2-3 years)
  • Western multinational (2-3 years)

Competencies:

  • Highly proficient financial accountant following IGAAP and US GAAP
  • Results driven. Highly motivated with strong aspirations to achieve and develop.
  • Process-oriented mindset.
  • Interest in broad array of finance disciplines.
  • Detailed and analytical thinker.
  • Proficient in SAP finance - financial accounting module – (ECC – FICO)
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel) and tax know how
  • Good communication skills.
  • Highly collaborative. Able to work across levels & roles.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Additional Notes:

  • Relocation is not available for this position.
  • The ability to accommodate flexible schedule aligned with international time Zone is essential.
