The Accounting Consultant is a mid-level finance professional responsible for supporting core accounting functions, including general ledger activities, financial analysis, and reporting. This role ensures accuracy, compliance with GAAP, and supports financial close and audit processes.

- Maintain general ledger accounts and support financial reporting activities
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements (minor)
- Support internal and external audit requests and documentation
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, controls, and regulatory requirements
- Identify process improvement opportunities
- Partner with cross-functional teams

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, in Accounting/Finance and/or related Banking Operations
- Extensive reconciliation process experience
- Experience with large data sets
- Experience with account reconciliation
- Working knowledge of GAAP principles
- Proven Excel skills
- Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Banking experience
- ERP systems experience (Oracle, PeopleSoft)
- Experience with Data analytics tools like SQL
- Experience with Fiserv or FDR
